When I worked, I’d take paintings to the set in my car and sell them. Then I’d worry – what am I gonna do when I’m not working? I’d be exhausted, fat, getting rid of a girlfriend. So I’d paint.

I like wearing down; erosion of materials. I’ve scraped, burned, melted wax, used razor blades, power washed (big mistake).

I don’t have a plan when I start. I usually work with canvas or board on the floor. I start adding paper and paint and then I peel it back and see what I have.
