As owner and designer of Matrushka for the past 15 years I have been proud to carry on the Silver Lake tradition of handmade, for the people, ready to wear fashion. I was compelled this year to move my production studio to a new location and in that process I decided to open an atelier along side it. As an artist I’ve always wanted to have a space of my own to experiment and showcase all kinds of art and fashion. So now the public will get to see how we at Matrushka, and the soon to be LSH get things done. The public will be able to see the clothing being made by hands of the women of Matrushka. The preview is a chance to see the space in a pristine condition and the store area as an art gallery. In the future the store will be a place for more couture fittings and experimental fashion by designer Laura Howe. So please join us in this private behind the scenes event. Champagne, treats, music, fashion, art. (Also super exciting news the new space has a parking lot!!)

Our preview night is celebrate with the opening of new works by Senon Williams. Senon has taken the scale up a notch and created large works on paper of his stirring images. “I have been painting fervently for two years, it feels good to slow down with these larger works. More contemplation at a scale where my focus can traverse the page, a keen satisfaction rooting in deeper longer thought emanates from this work.”

We are also proud to present a musical performance by cool cat and renaissance man Jim Brown of The Holloys.
