Matrushka in the News

Our small boutique got a lot of attention when we started making masks at the beginning of April. Below are some of the highlights.
“After displaying the masks on Instagram a few weeks ago, Matrushka sold 700 in the first two days. Since then, the business has now sold more than 8,000.”
“Matrushka masks are double-sided and reversible, so you can rock a few different looks.”
“If having a cool non-medical grade mask with cats or unicorns or sharks on it makes things less scary , I’m happy,” says Laura Howe, the brand’s owner and designer. “I don’t like the idea of us all looking the same: sad, scared, behind the same kind of mask.”
“Made with leftover scraps from the studio, the Matrushka Cotton Face Masks come in cute and funky prints …”
“Silver Lake-based Matrushka is turning colorful fabric scraps left over from clothing production into cheerful face masks…”
“Long-running Silver Lake boutique Matrushka always carries a fancy frock or two we just gotta have and now that they’re using the funky fabric from their scraps to make matching masks…”
“If you have no hair ties because your cat ate them all and you want to support a good cause, put in an order to Matrushka Style. This LA-based custom clothing boutique will surprise you with adorable masks made from fabric they choose “
“These colorful masks are made from scraps of fabric from the indie Silverlake designer who has amused us with her dresses and separates featuring smiling cats, wizened space aliens, rainbow-backed unicorns and more.”
